"Don't waste any time mourning. Organize!"
-Joe Hill
My brother texted the family group chat this quote before he went to work today. I'm not in a good place this morning, but we can't lose ourselves to despair. I know I have a lot of anger right now, but getting into whose fault that is won't help anyone.
Dwelling on the people I will never forgive won't help anyone.
I'm not that optimistic, but hope is a choice we can still make. It's a hard one to make this morning, but I'm still going to do my best. We are where we are, and focusing on yesterday won't change that. We can only move forward, and save as many as we can along the way.
There will be a tomorrow because we're going to make sure there's a tomorrow.
Man, I WISH most of my badge getting went that smoothly.
Not shown, twenty meetings with clueless people supposedly in charge.
This is even more fun when you have Dealer / Staff / Sponsor badges. Multiclassing, whee!
(I eventually mandated a hierarchy system. Also, making certain things just a add-on ribbon makes life pleasant.)
There’s a REASON I like working Con Ops – you have at least a fighting chance of finding out what the heck is going on before the end of the con. 🙂
How did she get into Artist Alley to talk to the head without a badge? 🙂 Yes, I’ve seen that scenario happen.
Most cons don’t put Artist Alley in a badged area, so pretty easily. 😛
Ours is, but you can get an escort. …or the old trick of “I need to speak with [person X] about a badge, are they in there?” works sometimes. Trying to get a badge is the best reason to be without a badge.
